Partition Find and Mount

This A-FF Labs-developed application focuses on restoring access to partitions that are accidentally/maliciously deleted or lost. The application scans your disk, uncovers lost partitions, and then mounts them. Thus, you once again have easy access to the lost partitions – with Windows Explorer or another file manager you can access the data stored on those partitions.

The application can be installed on a machine powered by Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, or Windows 2000. The installation process is a standard one: download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard. Everything will go along smoothly and rapidly.

The main part of the application’s interface is made up of a list of all your drives. Above the list there’s a toolbar with buttons for launching the scan process, stopping the scan, mounting and unmounting a partition, opening and creating an image. You will certainly not have to go through a steep learning curve to get accustomed to the interface.

The first step in accessing this application’s functionality is to launch a scan. There are three types of scans to choose from:
Intellectual Scan – works in most situations, the developer recommends that you try this scan method first.
Normal Scan – checks all areas of the disk where standard partitioning tools are allowed to place the beginning of a partition.
Thorough Scan – looks in every sector of the drive while searching for valid partitions. This scan, as it is very thorough, can take several hours to complete.

Once the scan completes, you will be presented with a list of uncovered partitions. Mount a partition and you will have access to it with Windows Explorer or another file manager.

Partition Find and Mount works with any NTFS and FAT file systems.

Partition Find and Mount is a free application, but it is speed limited to 512KB. To get rid of this limitation, you must upgrade to the Pro version.

Please note that if the hard drive or if the partition is badly damaged, Partition Find and Mount may not work.
